DJ Sy interview 2005
An interview like
you've never seen before.........
x-cite: If you were a pie, what filling would you be, and why?
Oh I don't know, what a stupid bloody question! I might answer it if
I could think of something witty to say, but pies and humour don't
usually mix too well.
x-cite: Who's your favourite dj?
To be honest I don't get any time to listen to other djs live, but
Dj Spinbad from New York is a bad ass, his 80's mix is one of the
most entertaining mixes I've heard for years.
x-cite: If you could ban one thing in club-land, what would it
be?
Crap sound systems ;-)
X-cite: What's the worst thing you've ever done to a mate on a
come-down?
I haven't done anything out of order to me mates, but I remember a
good few years ago, one of my "mates" decided to puke up in my car
on a come down, with the window down, while I was doing 95mph on the
motorway, covering my brother in sick in the back. Ain't spoken to
him since, cos he didn't even apologise or offer to clean up the
mess. Not good.
x-cite: Have you got a stalker, would you like one?
I haven't at the moment I don't think, but I've got a strange
feeling I'm about to get one ;-)
x-cite: What's the weirdest thing you've found in a club?
I found Hixxy in a club the other week :-) :-)
x-cite: Ever had a crack, sack & back done?
A what?
x-cite: Aldi's or Waitrose?
Waitrose each & every, quality food at a reasonable price (I'm
looking to get sponsored by them). Joke.
x-cite: Creme egg, how do you eat yours?
I put it in my mouth, masticate for a while and swallow. That sounds
gay, but at least I'm honest.
X-cite: What's your favourite cartoon?
Tom & Jerry still rock
x-cite: What's your favourite catch-phrase?
Only 10 gigs tonight Sy? ;-)
x-cite: Tits, arse or legs?
In reverse order to your question.
x-cite: First non-dance vinyl ever bought?
"Turning Japanese" by The Vapours
x-cite: Favourite club?
Air in Birmingham is my current favourite, wicked sound system,
wicked set up for the dj.
x-cite: Does all that scratching make you itch ?
No
x-cite: Do you have any new projects in the pipeline ?
not really, just continuing with the relentless release schedule on
Quosh
x-cite: Any new tracks for the near future?
yes, just done 2 new corkers with Lou Lou (who was the singer on
Makin' Me Wanna Dance), some new bouncy instrumental tracks, a remix
of an Ian Van Dhal track which looks like it's gonna be a biggie,
and several other vocal hardcore tracks. We've been very busy in the
studio of late!!
x-cite: What did you think to Breeze & Styles attempt to conquer the
charts?
Fairplay to Breeze & Styles, not really my cuppa tea, but heh ;-)
Many thanks to Sy for taking the time from his busy schedule to
participate in this exclusive for X~Cite. |
